👤 Community Spotlight: Laszlo Bock
Claremont serial entrepreneur Laszlo Bock (PO ‘93) is the co-founder of HR tech company Humu (acq. by Perceptyx) and data platform startup Gretel.ai. Previously, Laszlo built and led Google's people function as their SVP for over 10 years, helping the company grow from a few thousand to almost 75,000 "Googlers" and the revenue from $6B to $90B. During his tenure, Google was named the Best Company to Work For more than 30 times around the world and received over 100 awards as an employer of choice.
In 2017, Laszlo co-founded Humu to make work better through machine learning, science, and a little bit of love. The company was acquired by Perceptyx earlier this year. In 2019, he co-founded Gretel – a multimodal synthetic data platform that automatically fine-tunes AI models to generate accurate and safe synthetic data on demand. Laszlo is also the author of the NYT-bestselling "Work Rules!" which has sold more than 500k copies, donating 100% of the proceeds to charity.
Laszlo recently met with over 400 Xooglers (Google alumni), many of whom were recruiters impacted by the recent layoffs. He discussed job hunting strategies during these market conditions, countering ageism, and the best way to network while looking for a job. 👇
